Activities and Sourroundings
In Southern France, situated between the foothills of the Cevenne mountains and the River Rhone lies the picturesque Ceze river valley with it’s typically Mediterranean climate and landscape. On the limestone soil grow the low evergreen oaks, junipers and pines so emblematic of the region and for which the locals have a special name…..the ‘Garrigue’. The same soil favours the omnipresent vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields which produce the region’s most famous crops. Agriculture is still a very important economic factor here.
It is in this setting that the Mas Aiguallier is found, nestling on a south facing slope of the Ceze valley surrounded by fields and forest.
A short drive from the Mas Aiguallier will take you to a wide choice of delightful villages and small towns such as Montclus, Barjac, or Goudargues with their weekly markets full of Mediterranean colour and atmosphere.
A little further afield ( a drive of an hour, or so ) are the famous towns of Avignon, Orange, Arles and Uzes with their ancient histories and excellent shopping.
There are so many places of interest to visit around the Mas Aiguallier, with plenty of activities for children. Experience the famous caves at Orgnac or La Forestière and their underground treasures.

The nearby Ceze river provides natural river beaches for swimming and sunbathing in beautiful scenery and the stunning Ardeche River Gorge is only 20ks away. Canoe hire is available for both rivers but whilst the Ardeche is a mecca for the sport, the Ceze is ideal for less strenuous ‘family’ canoeing.
If, however, you prefer to put your car keys away for a few days, the Mas Aiguallier is surrounded by marvellous walks !
